I had been avoiding any news about hurricane Charley all day because...I just get sick of the doomsday attitude of the reporters/meteorologists, and I didn't think there was any sense in worrying about it.
But I finally gave in and looked at the radar images and read the reports. Oh. My. Gosh. That storm is a freaking monster and it's practically right on top of my parents' home about now. There was a 105 mph gust of wind reported at Orlando Intn'l--about 35 miles from them. There are power outages, tornado warnings, and toppled trees being reported in their county and the adjacent ones.
I couldn't resist. I called home. *bee-dee-BEEP* We're sorry. Your call could not be connected.... Of course.
How am I going to sleep tonight?
