Well, I’ve been back in FL for about a week now. I am in the process of completely cleaning out my bedroom. And I do mean completely. Has anyone seen the show Cleansweep on TLC? That’s what I’m doing. I took everything out of my room and moved it to the living room (with mom’s permission), and I’m in the process of sorting it into Sell, Toss, and Keep piles. I have also moved all the furniture to the center of my room, and I have cleaned the walls and filled in the holes. Tomorrow, I start painting.

Perhaps it is silly to bother doing this when I’m just planning on moving to Tallahassee this summer anyway. But I thought it would be a) good to downsize my worldly possessions in preparation for the move, and b) nice to paint a room in my parents’ house that desperately needs painting, especially considering that they are letting me live here rent-free.

Of course, it is a rather daunting task and I still have a lot of work ahead of me. Not to mention having to sleep on the couch, where my cat sees fit to attack me about 10 times each night.

Here’s a cool meme from [livejournal.com profile] chicagoamy who friended me as a result of a recommendation she got when she posted it in her LJ:

Recommend to me...
1. A movie.
2. A book.
3. A musical artist, song, or album.
4. An LJ user not on my friends list.
5. Something to do in the next two months.
6. A website

Cool. I really need to do a major clean out, too. I'm not sure if I'll be moving out this summer, but either way, I have too much stuff.
I'll recommend something that doesn't fit into any of your categories...a Broadway Musical: Aida ... absolutely loved it ... listen to the soundtrack now whenever I can. :)

Sounds like a big undertaking- this project of yours! What color are you going to paint the room?
I am sure your cat loves this whole process- and the fun of having you on the couch where you can't lock him out!

I recommend:

1. An old movie called Crossroads...not the one with Britney Spears. It's about a young white kid who journeys through the south with an old blues harmonica player trying to find a lost Robert Johnson song.

2. Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. A great sci-fi novel

3. Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd.

5. Paint a picture...maybe just a small one

6. EBay! I recently got hooked on bargain shopping.
